2011 Graduate Pens First Book

Julie Zeilinger '11 has followed her popular teen blog thefbomb.org with a book published by Seal Press.  

Julie's interest in feminism was sparked by her middle school advisor who recommended she read Jessica Valenti’s book, Full Frontal Feminism: A Young Woman’s Guide to Why Feminism Matters.  

A sophomore at Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City, Julie's first book, A Little F’d Up: Why Feminism is Not a Dirty Word, begins with a forward by Valenti who states: “In a time when the very definition of feminism is up for grabs, when people who are feminists won’t identify as such and people who are most definitely not feminists are trying to steal the language of the movement, we need . . . a clear, strong, young voice that lets people know what feminism is actually about."
