Esteemed Journalist Speaks at Upper School
Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Connie Schultz visited Hawken Upper School today. She fielded questions at a student assembly, was interviewed by AffNo editors, led a creative writing workshop in the Writing Center, and visited several classes.
During the assembly she shared two of her essays and some of her favorite quotes, citing Maggie Kuhn who said "Speak your mind even if your voice shakes."
Last week Schultz resigned from the Plain Dealer stating, "it has become painfully clear that my independence, professionally and personally, is possible only if I'm no longer writing for the newspaper that covers my husband's senate race on a daily basis."
