On Saturday the Hawken Middle School 8th Grade boys basketball team concluded their Lyndhurst careers by taking third place in the Chagrin Falls Middle School Basketball Tournament with a scintillating double-overtime victory over West Geauga 50-47. West Geauga forced both overtimes with dramatic baskets, one a 40-foot three-point shot at the end of regulation, but the Hawks persevered and prevailed with clutch free throws by Alex Doody, Charlie Hruby, and Cam Biddle.
Alex Doody led the scoring with 21 points, followed by Charlie Hruby and Ethan Scully who contributed 10 a piece.
