Hawken AP Students Earn Scholar Recognition

Sixty-seven Hawken students earned 2010 Advanced Placement Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP exams.

Four students from the class of 2010 earned the highest distinction of National AP Scholar by earning an average score of 4 or higher on eight or more AP exams: Omar Diab, David Gerson, Peter Mintun, and Maya Shumyatcher. Twenty-five additional students qualified for AP Scholar with Distinction by earning at least a 3.5 average on five or more AP exams; 14 students qualified for AP Scholar with Honor; and 24 students qualified for AP Scholar by scoring a 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

Fewer than 20% of students who participate in the program worldwide perform at a sufficiently high level to earn AP Scholar Awards.
