Middle School Students Featured at Cultural Garden's One World Day

Seventh grader Sarah Parker was a featured singer at the 63rd annual One World Day celebration sponsored by the Cleveland Cultural Garden Federation on Sunday, September 19th. Proceeding short addresses by Congressman Denis Kucinich and local City Councilman Jeff Johnson, Sarah sang a beautiful rendition of America The Beautiful to an enchanted crowd of onlookers and Cultural Garden supporters. Matthew Owens (7th Grade) and Andrew Holmes (8th Grade) also participated as lead flag bearers in the traditional Parade of Flags, which worked its way along East Boulevard from Saint Clare Avenue to the Hungarian Garden. As sponsors of the American Colonial Garden, Hawken was proud to support this community event celebrating the diversity of cultures calling Cleveland home.
