The upper school student body gathered in the Kennedy Auditorium on Friday, June 4 to recognize fellow students for their stellar academic performance, artistic talent, athletic prowess, and commitment to community service. Awards Day 2010 also marked the first annual Dobay Trophy for House of the Year, which this year was proudly claimed by Mather House. Hawken`s most esteemed award, the Bolton Award, is bestowed upon a Hawken student who excels in all areas and has truly lived up to the Hawken motto: \"That each generation introduce its successor to a higher plane of life.\" This year the Bolton Award went to Charles Hermann, who was chosen not only for his academic prowess but for his calm and steady leadership, personal integrity, and outstanding participation in multiple aspects of school life. The fourth annual Grant Roth `85 Community Service award went to Seth Shill `11. As recipient of this award, Seth was given a $500 stipend to donate to the charity of his choice.
