Biology Students Weigh in with Powers That Be

lvl
Penny Orr`s biology students recently had a real life experience in democratic citizenry through an exercise involving problems relating to world fisheries problems - specifically the pros and cons of farmed vs wild-caught fish. Students read newspaper articles and researched the topic in order to develop an informed opinion about the problem. They then wrote letters proposing a solution supported by research and sent them to environmental organizations, the media, and politicians. Click here to read freshman Rachel McKay`s letter recently published in the editorial section of the Chagrin Valley Times.
