Hawken Day at "Choosing to Participate" Exhibit

Hawken Day at the Western Reserve Historical Society \"Choosing to Participate Exhibit\" will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2010, 10:00 a.m. to noon. During that time Hawken will cover the cost of admission for any current Hawken Middle or Upper School family. The program begins promptly with a tour at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception. Please note that the content of the exhibit is appropriate for MS and US students only. If you would like to attend, please RSVP to Susan Jambor at sjamb@hawken.edu or 440-423-2964. The exhibit, which runs through February 26, 2010, features eight Hawken students. Dani Berns `12, Julie Zeilinger `11, Josh Berns `10, Aaron Kohn `09, and Jenny Feuer `07 are featured \"Upstanders\" in the current exhibit. In addition, art work by Conrad Young `15, Erica Fearon `14, and Sarah Doody `13 are on display. Choosing to Participate serves as a catalyst for conversation about the importance of participation in our community, nation, and world. Facing History and Ourselves received more than 150 nominations and a committee comprised of students, educators, and community members selected 25 group or individual Upstanders to be featured in the Choosing to Participate exhibit. Hawken students are well-represented among the select group of Upstanders.
