10 Hawken Students Win eXpressions Awards
Students from Cris Harris` Creative Non-Fiction class and Heather Nelson`s AP Spanish Language classes participated in the 2009-2010 Cleveland Clinic eXpressions Language Program. The program received more than 700 submissions for both Art and Language, and judges awarded five levels of special recognition to winners. Forty-one ribbon winners received a certificate of accomplishment and monetary awards ranging from $25 to $100, and teachers received a $100 educational grant. Of those 41 winners, 10 were Hawken students: Ashley Black `10, Ozan Cubukcu `10, Sydney Davis `11, Margret Erlendsdottir `11, Ali Foti `10, Hannah Meropol `12, Nick Richard `11, Joe Soltzberg `11, Margo Uhrman `10, and Jessica Weiner `11. Their award-winning submissions will be displayed in the 2010 eXpressions Exhibition, which opens on January 21, 2010 at the Great Lakes Science Center in Cleveland.
