Hawken Environmentalists Runners Up for EPA Award
Five Hawken students - Charlie Primbas, Greg Pasiadis, John Wilson, Zachary Lawrence, and Brian Vogt - have been recognized for their environmental community service work by being named runners up for the US EPA Presidential Environmental Youth Award, Region 5. These students have formed a group called the Lake Kleenerz Environmental Education Campaign in an effort to help improve Lake Erie. With the OEEF grant money they received, they have spent many hours developing educational materials which will be implemented at the Cleveland Lakefront Exploration Center in downtown Cleveland. To date, the group has received over $16,000 in funding to support their environmental community service work. Read more about their EPA award here.
