Editors and Entrepreneurs

Upper School students were exposed to potential career paths today thanks to the generosity of two local professionals who took the time to share their stories and expertise. Past parent and current trustee Jeff Lucier visited campus today to speak with Ms. Gray`s Professional Writing class and run two breakout sessions in the Writing Center. In addition to his many other roles, Mr. Lucier serves as senior editor for Stack magazine, which he has supported since its founding four years ago. Co-founder Chad Zimmerman spoke to the class and later to the Upper School student body about the evolution of his company, which started with a dorm room conversation and developed into a national publication. He walked the students through the process of building a company, highlighting the elements of risk-taking, tough decision-making, and adaptability as key aspects of entrepreneurship.
