Alex Dobay to be Honored at HawkFest 2008 Homecoming Game

Laura
Hawken School will be honoring Alex Dobay `08 by retiring his #55 football jersey at a special halftime ceremony during the Homecoming game against Independence on Friday, October 3. Alex`s framed jersey will be unveiled during the ceremony and later hung in the Sports Center to become only the second number accorded such an honor. You can read more in a Plain Dealer article by reporter Jennifer Gonzalez. Students will be selling \"awareness bracelets\" for $3.00 in Alex Dobay`s honor at the homecoming football game, when his jersey is retired. The proceeds will go toward an organization that benefits children with cancer. The bracelets will be LIVESTRONG yellow and will read: \"Impossible is Nothing\" -- Dobay #55. If you wish to purchase a bracelet and do not live in Cleveland, one will be sent to you (upon request) with a minimum donation of $3.00. Please feel free to contact Emily Brueck, 09bruemi@hawken.edu. Friday night is also the kickoff to HawkFest 2008, Hawken`s Homecoming Weekend. Hawken graduates and families can visit HawkNet for all the details.
