Hawken Wins Big on Academic Challenge

Hawken`s Academic Challenge team recent performance on the Academic Challenge on WEWS puts it in second place in high scores and gives the students a good chance of returning for the championship at the end of the season, which is a match among the three top-scoring teams. Hawken scored 720 in its match against Oberlin and Fairless high schools, which is only 20 points behind the highest scoring team Magnificat. In addition to the possible appearance for the title in June, one team member, junior Alec Lai, has assembled a Cleveland Area Middle School Academic Challenge League. So far six schools are scheduled to compete in the first showdown at the end of May.
