Holtrey Honored by Peer
Eight Hawken swimmers and nine members of the Frederick Douglass Club recently listened to words of wisdom from Jim Ellis -- swim coach, teacher and subject of the film \"Pride\" -- when they attended the West Side Ecumenical Ministry`s annual Inspire luncheon. Hawken swim coach Jerry Holtrey was awarded the honor of introducing Ellis, a longtime friend, who referred to Jerry as \"the man.\" Ellis intimated to the audience that Cleveland should honor and invite Mr. Holtrey to speak considering all the work he has done in the U.S and internationally to promote swimming and diving.
