Hawk wins silver in world physics competition

Kenan Diab `07, as part of the five-member U.S. Physics Team, recently brought home a silver medal from the International Physics Olympiad that was held in Isfahan, Iran. It was one of five medals that the team won, placing them in third place along with Korea in the competition. The team was recently featured in a Washington Post interactive, that highlights each member and the journey of getting to Iran. Also on the recent trip to Iran was Hawken math and physics Bob Shurtz, who is the academic director for U.S. Physics Team and who has coached and seen a Hawken student on the physics team every year for the past 10 years.
