Listen to the Concert of Remembrance

On May 8, Hawken hosted a Concert of Remembrance at the Upper School, commemorating the Holocaust and World War II, featuring the critically acclaimed chamber group Panor+â-ímicos. The event, conceived by Mary Kay Ferguson, a Hawken parent and founder of the chamber ensemble, was also designed to cap the seventh grade`s interdisciplinary study of both historical events. The evening was one that featured guest speakers, including concentration camp survivors Gladys and Jerry Loth and WWII veteran Stanley Morgenstern and performances by the Middle School String Quartet and Panor+â-ímicos, which also premiered for the first time in the United States \"From the Wall\" by Michael Cohen. Concert attendees included Hawken parents, teachers and students as well as parents, teachers and students from other independent schools whose middle schools were engaged in similar studies.
