Easing the transition

jb
The new children at Hawken love their new school, said Sally Zarney, director of admissions for the Lower and Middle Schools. That`s according to a meeting Support Services and the Admissions office hosted recently for the parents of new students in grades K-8. "One mother said that she sees her child excited about school again," said Zarney. "They are up every morning, dressed, organized and ready to go, much different than last year." The meeting was primarily to discuss the topic of transitions, to gauge how well new parents and students were adjusting to their new surroundings and to voice a few helpful suggestions on making the adjustment even better for future new families. School Division Directors and the Admissions office are currently working to implement some of those changes suggested. Keep an eye out for future updates.
