Hawks Place at Indoor Track State Championship

The Hawken Indoor Track Team completed their season on Saturday March 18 at the OATCCC State Indoor Championship at the University of Akron. The Hawks competed against Division II/III teams from across the state in the following events: Girls - 4x200m Relay, 60m Hurdles, 4x800m Relay, 800m, 4x400m Relay Boys - 400m, 200m In the 4x200 Meter Relay, the Hawks ran away to a win in their heat with a time of 1:51.18. The relay team of Vicki Wilson, Jessica Langholt, Kelly Vogt and Kene Anoliefo watched the remainig heats to celebrate an overall 3rd place finish! In the 60m Hurdles Vicki Wilson ran a strong race, but just missed qualifying to the finals by .04 seconds. Her time of 9.91 placed 9th. In the 4x800m Relay, Jessica Langholt got the Hawks off to a stong start with a 2:31 split. Peggy Seabright and Ellen Withrow followed with their own season bests and Kelly Vogt anchored the relay to a 7th place finish in a time of 10:22.21. Hayden Haas finished in 13th place in the 400m with a time of 52.68. Kelly Vogt came back to run the 800m in 2:31.32 to finish in 11th place. David Williams ran 23.55 in the 200m Dash to place 12th. The Hawks finished the day with a 5th place finish in the 4x400m relay. Jessica Langholt, Vicki Wilson, Kelly Vogt and Kene Anoliefo each ran strong legs of the relay to finish in a time of 4:15.17. As a team the Lady Hawks finished in 16th place in a field of more than 50 teams. Congratulations Hawks!
