Senior Wins City Club Debate
Hawken senior Alyssa Lane won the City Club of Cleveland`s annual High School Debate Championship. This was Alyssa`s third consecutive year competing in the City Club`s Lincoln-Douglas style debate. She and her sister Jenny, a 2001 Hawken graduate, have participated in the City Club debate a total of five times. Jenny helped Alyssa prepare and attended to cheer her on. Alyssa won, 3-0, against opponent Daniel Litt from Orange High School. The debate topic was the use of the state`s power of eminent domain to promote private enterprise.
