Lacrosse Players Compete on National Level

L2k
Four Middle School boys competed in June for Team North Coast Ohio in the U.S. Lacrosse U-15 Youth Festival in Orlando, Florida. Forty-eight boys` and girls` programs participated and represented 21 different states from California to Massachusetts. Matt Miller (midfield), Teddy Hook (defense), Pat Horsburgh (attack), and Montreaux Rodgers (defense) competed on Team North Coast Ohio, which also included players from Kent, Jackson, Chagrin Falls, Solon, Rocky River, Medina, Hudson, and Wooster. The team was coached by Jim Scully (Hawken), David St. Pierre (Rocky River), and Gary Cintron (Rocky River). The all-star team represented the state of Ohio extremely well. They handily defeated teams from western Maryland and western Massachusetts, tied teams from southern New Jersey and central Pennsylvania, and were defeated in a close contest by a team from the Hudson Valley of New York. All four Hawken boys were strong contributors in challenging 90-degree heat and humidity.
