All Revved Up

Donna Pacchioni gets revved up about riding the open road on her BMWF650 motorcycle. The Director of Finance and Administrative Services at Hawken has been riding with her husband Joe since the mid-1970s. But she`s gone from gripping his waist to gripping the shifters - Donna has been riding her own bike for six years. The couple sets out on week-long trips with a group of friends three or four times a year. \"For me,\" Donna says, \"riding is a social activity. I can stay in touch with people I wouldn`t be able to otherwise. What I like most is biking through the beautiful countryside, and,\" she adds with a chuckle, \"getting to the bed and breakfast to eat dinner.\" Donna insists that Joe is the true biking addict, with many motorcycles in various stage of repair. \"An engineer by trade, Joe enjoys buying and rebuilding classic bikes from the `60s and `70s. He had one in the living room, and currently has a bike in the dining room\" which he is currently overhauling. The road is long and open for this biking duo. The Pacchionis will attend an annual bike show in July and travel to western Pennsylvania in the fall.
