4th Graders Boast Most Seaworthy Craft
Students, faculty and alumni of Hawken participated in the inaugural Cardboard Boat Regatta, sponsored by the new Principles of Engineering and Design class. Nineteen teams participated in the event, which took place Sunday, December 18th at Holtrey pool, on the Gates Mills campus. Teams included alumni, students and faculty. Participants constructed boats made out of cardboard and duct tape. At 1:00 teams moved their boats into the pool area and races were held in timed heats. Ultimately, 11th graders won the time trial portion. Team members included Gioia Garden, Logan Kirsch and Erica Dorfman.
