Athletes Honored at 36th Annual Spring Banquet

Several athletes were honored on May 30th at Hawken`s 36th Annual Spring Athletics Banquet. After a welcome by Joseph Algrant, students Allie Sandacz, captain of the women`s track and field team, and David Williams, captain of the men`s track and field team, reflected on their athletic experiences throughout their time at Hawken. As well as individual team awards, this year`s prestigious Old Board Award was distributed to six players who demonstrated overall excellence in a particular sport. The awardees were: Baseball Brian Recht Tennis Andrew Demsey Track & Field David Williams & Kene Anoliefo Men`s Lacrosse Max Artz Women`s Lacrosse Caitlin Clements In addition, the Strong Award for an outstanding senior male athlete was awarded to David Williams, and the Carter Award for an outstanding senior female athlete was awarded to Caitlin Clements. Middle School math teacher Brady Brandt received the Marsh Award for his contributions to Hawken Upper and Middle School athletics.
