Upper School Production of Rent: School Edition a Hit
Hawken School’s winter musical, Rent: School Edition, completed its two-weekend run, receiving rave reviews for all four performances.
Principle roles were played by Evan Schreiber, Myles Simmons, Terra Writz , Brian Huser, Alexis Floyd, Ben Sala, Ryan Smith, and Adrienne Krol; they were joined by over 50 additional cast and crew members.
Jonathan Larson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning revolutionary rock opera tells the story of a group of bohemians struggling to express themselves through their art and “measuring their lives in love.” Against the gritty backdrop of New York’s East Village, these friends strive for success and acceptance while enduring the obstacles of poverty, illness and the AIDS epidemic.
