Big Questions Debate: Hawken closed out semi-finals. All four students who made it to elimination rounds were from Hawken. Finalist and 1st alternate to nationals: Emma Blemaster ’22; Semi-finalists: Zev Gold ’23 and Alex Watson ’21
Lincoln Douglas Debate: Hawken had three quarter-finalists (including Allie). Semi-finalist and 1st Alternate to nationals: Soren Palencik ’21 Quarter-finalist and 3rd Alternate to nationals: Mourad Zeynalov ’21
Policy Debate: Hawken had three of the four semi-finalists. 1st-Alternate to nationals: Raymond Tao ’21 and Cassidy Feng ’22. 2nd Alternate to Nationals and a new state qualifier: Sasha Turner ’23 and Mac McMillan ’22
Original Oratory: Hawken had three out of the six in the final round. 3rd Alternate to nationals: Kadee Lui ’22
Program Oral Interp of Literature: Final round, 1st alternate to nationals and new state qualifier: Anna Cord ’21
Public Forum: Semi-finalists, 2nd alternate to nationals and new state qualifiers: Madi Wayt ’21 and Krishna Mukunda ’21
US Extemporaneous Speaking: Final round and 2nd alternate to nationals: Aniyah Nelson ’21
International Extemporaneous Speaking: Final round and 3rd alternate to nationals: Molly Xiao ’21
In addition to representing Hawken at the national tournament, Allie Dettelbach ’21 will be competing at the City Club on March 13 for the District Championship.
