Birchwood’s 4 th Grade Wins Noetic Learning Math Contest

Birchwood’s 4th grade class received the Team Achievement Award in the 2018 Noetic Learning Math Contest. This award is given to teams who place in the top 10% of participating teams. These young mathematicians also placed first out of all Ohio teams.  Four students also earned National Honor Roll recognition: Manya Raina, Joshua Gordon, Ayat Jaffar, and Ted Alten.
The Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) is a semiannual, problem-solving contest for elementary and middle school students in grades 2-8. The competition aims to encourage interest in math and problem solving. Students are challenged with 20 problems to be solved in 45 minutes that are designed to test students’ problem solving skills.

Birchwood is proud to develop critical math and problem solving skills from the earliest years of a student’s education and congratulates its fourth graders for their outstanding accomplishment.
