Randy F. Rizor, M.D. ‘70 is a founding partner and president of The Physicians’ Spine and Rehabilitation Specialists of Georgia. He has been named one of Atlanta’s top doctors by Atlanta Magazine and one of the top doctors in the country by US News and World Report. He is a member of the Chairman’s Advisory Council of the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation and serves on the Board of Directors of the Medical Association of Atlanta. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. In response to the events of September 11, 2001, Randy volunteered to join the United States Army Reserve. He currently holds the rank of Colonel in the Medical Corps. He has served on active duty in Kosovo in 2004, and in Iraq in 2007-2008 and 2011. Since 1994, Randy and his wife Nancy have made many trips to Haiti, providing primary care in community medical clinics. This includes trips following the earthquake in 2010 and the cholera epidemic in 2011. In 2013, Hawken presented Randy with the Carl N. Holmes Award to recognize his better self that makes our country and community exceptional. The Rizors reside in Atlanta.
