HEAD LIFEGUARD
Hawken School is seeking a Head Lifeguard who will work regular lifeguarding shifts and assist the Director of Aquatics with scheduling, managing staff, covering empty shifts, and other areas as needed. Successful candidates will have a passion for aquatics and leading.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervise swimmers and assures patron safety;
- Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies by activating the Emergency Action Plan (EAP)
- Maintains a safe pool environment, including keeping the pool, deck, and surrounding areas clean and free of hazards;
- Interact with users to encourage maximum proper use of all facilities;
- Assist in developing, leading, or teaching various aquatic programming as needed;
- Assist with scheduling and supervising lifeguard staff;
- Propose new ideas to enhance Hawken aquatics programming;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Aquatics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1 year of lifeguard experience;
- Active American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification;
- Preferred Additional Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor certification, Water Safety Instructor (WSI); certification, and/or Instructor Trainer certification;
- Preferred Experience: Google-suite, Microsoft-based programs, Colorado Timing System, and Hy-Tek Meet Manager;
